Priyanka was born July 18, 1982, in Jamshedpur, India, to the family of Capt. Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra, both are the Indian Army physicians. She had a very varied upbringing. She started her education at La Martinière Girls College in Lucknow as a resident student; a short stay at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly prepared her for further studies in the U.S. Further after completion of tenth grade in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. She decided to become a software engineer or a criminal psychologist. She enjoys Indian music and dance; flair for writing poetry and short stories; reading, especially biographies; and has worked for a lot of social welfare programs.She is the only Indian in the USA to have been selected at the state level for the National Opus Honor Choir, extensive charity work back in India and the USA, and joined the CAF and CII in their literacy program and is their ambassador.In the year 2000 before actress became Miss World, she signed, the first film “Good Night Princess”, directed by actor/director Atlee Brar. She shot the film for a month. After she became Miss World, she continued to shoot for the film. which was based on the life of Priyanka Gandhi and it was a Hindi/English film. Her co-stars were Pooja Batra and Rahul Dev. The film was finally adjourned due to lack of funding.

In 2006, a toy company in England created a fashion doll based on Priyanka Chopra’s fame. It was part of the “Bollywood Legend” series which also included stars Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Kajol. The dolls are now considered rare items.

Priyanka Chopra got engaged in the Year 2018 with Nick Jonas in a Punjabi Roka ceremony in Mumbai. Later, in December 2018, the couple married at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur in traditional Hindu and Christian ceremonies.
